Martha enjoys karate, Kobudo, listening to music, fitness, and traveling to new countries. She is excited and honored to come to Washington, D.C., and represent her home country the United Kingdom! Martha comes from a small coastal village where she doesn’t have many opportunities to advocate for the T1D community, but she makes a point to support fellow students at her school who live with T1D. “I advise them on what to do to manage their T1D; it also makes them feel as though they aren’t alone as there aren’t many others who you know who are your age and live near to you.”

Martha uses an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor and is thankful for the technology and research that made the hybrid closed-loop system possible. As a Children’s Congress Delegate, Martha looks forward to meeting others in the T1D community and learning how other people manage their T1D successfully.
