Annabelle’s biggest dream is to one day be able to say, “I used to have diabetes.” When she is not working hard in school or singing in her select choir group, Annabelle is working hard to do her part to make this dream come true.

A few years ago, Annabelle started a crocheting business, AnnaBeanies, which she uses as a platform to raise awareness about T1D and donates profits to JDRF.  While Annabelle loves the idea of being an entrepreneur and owning her own business one day, she also knows she will need good health insurance. This has been the driving force behind her work in fundraising and advocacy. “My experiences have taught me to advocate for myself and others.” Annabelle’s older brother was diagnosed with T1D two years after her and, while it was emotional, she is grateful to have someone else who understands the challenges of T1D.
