Ethan loves the outdoors—hiking, camping, hunting, and skiing—and has been to 11 National Parks. “I’ve had to treat low blood sugars four hundred feet underground in Mammoth Cave and when standing on top of mountains in Montana,” he said. Ethan also got to co-pilot a flight over Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier recently! In school, his favorite subjects are math and science and when he grows up, he’d like to be an engineer. He mentors younger kids with T1D and shows them that having T1D doesn’t slow him down. Ethan and his family participate in One Walks, Galas, and host a kickball tournament fundraiser for JDRF with over 20 teams participating. “I educate a lot of people just by being me.”
