Kathryn loves writing, babysitting, singing and acting; and has performed in both Cats and The Music Man. “I am proud of the fact that children seem to respond to me. This summer I was a counselor–in–training at camp and had a great experience working with the young campers,” says Kathryn. “I’m also very proud of my involvement with JDRF. I feel like I’ve done a good job explaining to my friends and family what T1D is all about.” She has shared her T1D experience with her elementary school, with her Girl Scout troop, and even on local TV by promoting a JDRF Walk. Each summer, she hosts a lemonade sale to raise money for the cause. When she grows up, Kathryn would like to become a teacher, educating people about T1D and nutrition.
