Age: 14
Age at T1D diagnosis: 9

When Ellie was first diagnosed with T1D, it was difficult for her to learn that there is currently no cure for the disease, but over the past five years, she has proven to be incredibly resilient and lives life with a positive outlook. Ellie has a great appreciation for the diabetes technologies that help make her life easier and less burdensome. She says that T1D tech like her Omnipod pump and Dexcom CGM make it seem “almost like I do nothing for controlling my T1D” as the devices do so much. Outside of participating in JDRF events and supporting the T1D community, Ellie is extremely proud to be an artist and costume-maker, and has even been able to sell her creations.
