Violet makes a point to wear her insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor in visible places as much as she possibly can to help spread awareness about T1D. “I welcome the opportunity to tell people about diabetes and my devices, and answer any questions they might have.” This past year, Violet created her first JDRF One Walk team and raised over $5,000 to help fund T1D research, and is looking forward to forming a team again next year!

When she isn’t raising awareness and helping to drive research progress, Violet loves to play soccer (and is a back-to-back state champion!), take voice lessons, play piano, and hang out with her friends. She also enjoys listening to music, baking, and is an avid reader and writer, especially creative writing. Violet isn’t sure what she wants to do when she’s older yet, but her favorite subjects in school are English and photography, so she imagines it will be related to at least one of those subjects.
