Age: 15
Age at Diagnosis: 2

Since Tilly’s T1D diagnosis at age 2, raising awareness has been important to her and her family. She has attended countless events for JDRF Canada, speaking, fundraising, and advocating (she’s even met Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada). Tilly is thrilled to be an International Delegate representing her country at this year’s Children’s Congress. “I am so excited to have a voice, meet other kids with T1D from around the world, and advocate to create change.” Tilly has modeled for stock images of people with T1D, proudly showing off her insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor—one of her images was recently included in the T1D Index! Both Tilly and her dad (who also lives with T1D) have participated in T1D clinical trials. “I feel we are helping to understand this disease.”

In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, playing soccer, playing with her dog, and baking. She also loves traveling and looks forward to seeing the world someday, including places like Bora Bora, Italy, Spain, and Norway.
