Age at Diagnosis: 1

Theo recently played in his first chess tournament where he won 3 games! He also loves soccer, both watching it and playing it. Whenever he has an insulin pump or continuous glucose monitor site change, he watches soccer highlights. Theo is very proud that he knows most of the world capitals. When he grows up, Theo wants to be a soccer player or musician or data scientist (like his dad).

Theo was diagnosed with T1D around Christmas and remembers people handing out gifts in the Pediatric ICU to cheer up the patients and their families. Theo and his family celebrate his diaversary every year by collecting gifts from friends and family and giving them out at the hospital. “I like giving the gifts to make the kids feel happy when they are sick because people wanted me to be happy when I was sick with DKA.”
