Skye has already reached a number of her goals. She’s an honor student, field hockey player and tae kwon do martial artist, and she’s even climbed a 70–foot tree… and then zip–lined off a platform! But her checklist is long. She wants to visit London, go skydiving, meet Taylor Swift, and attend Yale or Harvard, for starters! “I want to change the world in positive ways. I have a lot of dreams,” she says. Seeing a cure for T1D is at the top of the list. “I’m not just looking for a fix,” says Skye. “I’m looking for a cure. A cure would be amazing—no more needles or time missed from school for endocrinologist appointments or just terrible blood sugar. A world without diabetes is my wish.”
