Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

A founding member of the First Lego League, his school’s first–ever robotics team, Aaron is also a talented tennis player. He raises funds for JDRF a number of ways, from selling lemonade and paracord bracelets that he makes himself to recruiting classmates for JDRF Walks and speaking with his state’s lawmakers. He is especially excited about technology that helps manage T1D, such as his CGM. When he first got his CGM, he says, “The fun of playing in the snow came back for me. For the first time since before I got diabetes, I could play for hours on end in the snow without my mom calling me in every 30 minutes to check my blood sugars!” He is attending JDRF Children’s Congress with the hope that “one day, there will be a cure!”
