Nicholas really likes to help with yard work, so much so that he is currently participating in the 50 Yard Challenge, mowing 50 yards for senior citizens, people living with disabilities, or military veterans. He recently joined a competitive LEGO league and takes weekly singing lessons. When Nicholas grows up, he’d like to own a property management company.

Nicholas is very open about having T1D—he did a science fair project on it and, with his mom, gives presentations at school about it. He knows how important speaking up is. “I will advocate for funding and policies to support everyone living with T1D.” He recently volunteered to speak to a group of second year medical students at SUNY Upstate Medical University about living with T1D and answered a lot of their questions!
