Age: 16
Age at Diagnosis: 6

Lucy has participated in several research studies since she was diagnosed with T1D at age 6. “I participate in any study I qualify for because I am passionate about learning everything there is to know about diabetes. I think learning as much as possible about T1D is how a cure will be found.”

When Lucy isn’t helping to  drive breakthrough T1D research, she’s active in show choir, marching band, golf, choir, Key Club, student council, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Lucy loves to read, spend time with her family and friends, and envisions herself pursuing a degree in fashion when she heads to college!
