Katherine is a YouTube sensation! She has created her own fantastic take on Meghan Trainor’s hit song, “All About That Bass,” but with a type T1D twist. Katherine and her friends with T1D sing their own version called “All About The Cure,” and have even been featured on the local news for their catchy rendition of the song. Katherine also loves singing and dancing to hip hop and rock ‘n’ roll, playing volleyball, swimming on her swim team, hiking, and reading—especially Percy Jackson books. Katherine arrives at JDRF Children’s Congress ready to advocate for other kids, as well as the adults in her life with T1D. Both her dad and her great–grandma have had the disease. “I want a cure for my whole family,” says Katherine.
