Julia is a nationally-ranked Scottish harpist, a student government leader, and a lacrosse and field hockey player who aspires to be a famous musician or a senator one day. She is also an advocate for diabetes research and awareness. Julia was diagnosed at age four, and her younger brother, Max, was diagnosed about a year later, at 18 months old. She works hard with her family to make a difference, participating in JDRF Walks with a team called "The Granville Gang," and organizing fundraisers every year. Julia wants to encourage the government to increase funding for diabetes research, and "to be an example to other people with diabetes, [showing] that they can do whatever they hope to do."
