Jad describes himself as an extrovert, he loves having conversations with a variety of people and learning more about different ideas in general. He’s a member of the National Honor Society, secretary of the Arabic Club, Future Problem Solvers International, as well as the track and field, and soccer teams. Outside of school, Jad works as a math tutor and also a field manager for a soccer team. He says that although managing school and all these extracurriculars along with T1D is stressful, “through participation with JDRF as well as support
from my community in all of my other activities, my high school experience has been amazing so far.”

Jad also brings his extroverted nature to raising T1D awareness within his community. He and his family have been involved in JDRF One Walk, Galas, TypeOneNation Summits, and Jad has served as both a Youth Ambassador and Youth Advocacy Leader. When he is older, Jad plans to turn his fascination for biology and the study of life into a career and attend medical school after graduating college.
