For four years, Jack's best friend, Peter, has kept him company on walks to the school nurse's office to check Jack's blood sugar. Peter and his family also learned a lot about diabetes so that Jack could play safely at their house. Little did Jack know that he would start repaying his best friend for all that support when two years ago, Peter was diagnosed as well.

For four years, Jack’s best friend, Peter, has kept him company on walks to the school nurse’s office to check Jack’s blood sugar. Peter and his family also learned a lot about diabetes so that Jack could play safely at their house. Little did Jack know that he would start repaying his best friend for all that support when two years ago, Peter was diagnosed as well. It is just one more reason why Jack works hard to raise awareness. He is helping to organize a school Walk to benefit JDRF, and has been a Walk Team Captain for four years. As a Youth Ambassador, Jack has spoken about diabetes at two Walks, a school assembly, and a Promise Ball fundraiser. Jack enjoys playing football and basketball, and plays cello in his school’s orchestra. As a delegate, he hopes to raise awareness about how diabetes affects people and their families.
