Age at T1D diagnosis: 7

Jack is a busy guy. He plays several different sports, enjoys school and hanging out with his friends, and is one of the fastest cross country middle school runners in his state! In addition to all of that, he also stays busy helping to raise awareness for T1D by participating in JDRF One Walk events, writing cards to people newly diagnosed with T1D and participating in JDRF’s Promise to Remember Me campaign. Jack sees his T1D not as a hindrance, but as a useful tool. “Diabetes has not only given me the drive to be a better person and athlete, but other kids that see my daily struggles can use it to find strength and confidence in themselves as well.”
