George has been proactive since the early days of his diagnosis. Just eight at the time, he quickly went online and learned all he could about T1D and JDRF. By age 11, this England native was speaking at the Nottinghamshire STARS Awards, and has since spoken at conferences and for local groups and clubs. He believes strongly in the power of awareness. “I will speak to anyone who will listen. I think if you tell one person and make an impression, they may mention it to others.” One of those listening is Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, who spoke with George and is now serving as president of JDRF UK.

In addition to his advocacy with JDRF and the wider T1D community, George enjoys photography, acting, and playing the drums.
