Brodie is an award-winning basketball player whose dream is to play for the NBA. Upon his diagnosis with T1D, all Brodie could think was that his career dreams were over. He has since realized that all people with diabetes can live full, healthy, and productive lives, and his dream is still alive. “If I am successful, I will have a platform to inspire and encourage others to never, ever allow T1D to interfere with your dreams.”

Not only does Brodie work hard at basketball, but he works hard and feels empowered by raising awareness about living with T1Dhe has recorded local PSAs, presented to his class at school, and participated in a Q&A session at summer camp. He feels science is near a breakthrough with finding a cure for T1D and participated in a clinical trial to help make that possible.
