Preston is young for a history enthusiast. But then again, Preston's accomplishments – especially in advocating for diabetes research funding – are all impressive, especially for his young age.

Preston is young for a history enthusiast. But then again, Preston's accomplishments – especially in advocating for diabetes research funding – are all impressive, especially for his young age. Diagnosed at one year old, Preston has helped raise over $70,000 in eight JDRF Walk seasons; has been a JDRF Gala Honoree; spoke at the Mississippi Chapter Walk's kickoff luncheon; and each year, he holds his birthday party during Walk season – two months before his actual birthday – and asks for donations instead of gifts. Preston also has a diabetic alert dog, Case, who alerts Preston's parents of high or low blood sugar. He and Case were featured in a story published in newspapers throughout Louisiana. Preston enjoys baseball, fishing, and collecting old coins. He wants to become a doctor and help others with diabetes. As a delegate, Preston wants to show Congress that, with their help, we can make a difference.
