Katelynn, her brother, and her sister all have type 1 diabetes. "We never really complain about having diabetes. It is the normal life around our house. However, I do not want to live our normal life anymore!" says Katelynn, who volunteers as an advocate for type 1 diabetes research.

Katelynn, her brother, and her sister all have type 1 diabetes. "We never really complain about having diabetes. It is the normal life around our house. However, I do not want to live our normal life anymore!" says Katelynn, who volunteers as an advocate for type 1 diabetes research. One of Katelynn's many achievements is that she and her sister, Hailey, discussed the importance of the Special Diabetes Program with Representative Betsey Markey, who shortly thereafter co-sponsored the bill to renew it. Katelynn enjoys playing the saxophone, playing softball, and hanging out with friends.
