Kyler has learned a lot about managing his diabetes, which helps during his day-to-day activities such as golf, swimming, and mastering computer games. Diagnosed at age two, he also competes in science and math competitions, and placed fourth in his school's regional Math Bee last year.

Diagnosed at age two, he also competes in science and math competitions, and placed fourth in his school's regional Math Bee last year. Kyler hopes to one day channel his love of computer games into becoming an inventor of new kids' games, and to use science to make foods and candies more exciting. Every year, Kyler raises money and participates in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes. This year, he raised more than $2,700. As a delegate, Kyler hopes to bring attention to the people who are directly affected by type 1. "We are not just a statistic on a piece of paper. We have families, friends, and dreams of a healthy future," he says.
