Sophie and her older brother, Max, are on a mission: to raise awareness of the disease they both have, and to tell their story of living with type 1 diabetes to Congress so that research funding continues. They're in this together, and they work hard to make a difference.

Sophie and her older brother, Max, are on a mission: to raise awareness of the disease they both have, and to tell their story of living with type 1 diabetes to Congress so that research funding continues. They're in this together, and they work hard to make a difference. "One of us is always there for the other," Sophie says. She and her brother participate in JDRF Walks with their team, "The Attack Pack," and were even interviewed for newspaper and television about the Walk. They frequently speak at fundraisers and support newly diagnosed children. The two have discussed diabetes with their Senators through the Promise to Remember Me Campaign, and they also teamed up with their mom to organize a JDRF benefit concert earlier this year. Sophie enjoys basketball, swimming, Girl Scouts, tennis, art, piano, and dancing. One day, she would like to become a scientist.
