Peyton enjoys playing tennis for his high school’s varsity team, which won the state championship last fall. Managing his diabetes with tennis can be tough, especially when his blood sugar compromises his game. Peyton says, “My dream is to someday play a match free from diabetes and the struggles that come with it.” Last spring, Peyton and his family shared their story at their JDRF Dream Gala, which raised more than $1 million dollars for T1D research. Peyton has also visited his Congressman to discuss the importance of renewing the Special Diabetes Program (SDP)—and speaks with local media about his struggles living with T1D. “There are many other kids and families doing the same work, but we cannot do it alone.”
