Lily likes to play soccer and read. She would like to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon or a professional soccer player. Lily is working hard to eventually attend a great college. “It gets tough sometimes and I feel burned out, but I know there is nothing to be ashamed of and I will have this disease the rest of my life, unless we can find a cure,” she says. Lily has spoken about her life with T1D with her Members of Congress and her family helps mentor newly diagnosed families. She is also a Youth Advocacy Leader and started ‘The Hope Show’ which is her own YouTube channel for kids with diabetes. “All the kids and adults with this disease deserve to live the most normal life anyone could ask for.”
