Abigael is a very passionate person. She is deeply involved in many activities, from her varsity tennis team, to playing flute and piccolo in the top wind ensemble, to her Science Olympiad team and advanced science research program at her school. In fact, as part of her research program, Abigael won a gold medal last year for her research into viral and genetic triggers of T1D. Abigael was diagnosed with T1D at age seven, so she does everything she can to help other kids with T1D. Abigael says, “1.25 million Americans have type 1 diabetes. We all have our own stories, but our goal is the same.”
