Age: 13
Age at T1D diagnosis: 8

Since he was diagnosed four years ago, Vincent Po’oi has led one of Northern California Inland Chapter’s largest and most effective JDRF One Walk teams. That’s not the only way he helps the T1D community—he also participated in a year-long T1D research study, and he uses social media to raise awareness about T1D. Vincent has attended a local diabetes camp for two years running, and hopes to attend the camp’s Leaders in Training program this summer so he can become a counselor when he is 18. An aspiring musician, Vincent plays football, rugby and swims in his free time.
