Age: 10
Age at T1D diagnosis: 1

Though Tyler is just 10 years old, he has already met with more Members of Congress than most people do in a lifetime. Following his T1D diagnosis just a few months before his second birthday, Tyler and his family began speaking with legislators about the importance of T1D research, and have been doing so ever since. As Tyler explains, “the research funding goes toward new diabetes technology for diabetes care and finding a cure.” In addition to participating in a multitude of events for the JDRF Northeast Ohio Chapter, Tyler plays baseball, basketball, floor hockey, ice hockey and has a Diabetic Alert Dog named Pilot.
