Age: 16
Age at Diagnosis: 8

For Tori, being diagnosed with T1D at a young age was life-changing but through advances in technology and attending diabetes camp, Tori has been able to better manage life with T1D. “Diabetes research is so important for all of us living with the disease. Even the tiniest advancements in technology are changing our way of life and making our management easier.” Tori promotes her camp any chance she gets—she organizes a fundraiser every year to help send more kids to camp and has also done media interviews to help promote it. She and her family work hard to advocate for a cure for T1D so that other families don’t have to go through the same challenges.

At school, Tori is involved in a marketing club and student government. When she’s older, she plans on being a nurse in a pediatric endocrinology office.
