Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 1

Diagnosed with T1D just three weeks after her first birthday, Taylor has scarcely known a life without site changes and syringes, highs and lows, and carbohydrate counting. Yet Taylor and her family persevere, working actively with their JDRF chapter as advocates not only for T1D research funding, but also for education.

Taylor participates in a local support group as well as a family camp, Camp Kudzu. Taylor’s mom, Radhiyah, leads the family’s fundraising and advocacy efforts, having served as a recruitment coordinator and as chairperson for the Georgia Chapter Government Relations Committee, and volunteering with JDRF at the Sugar Show. Taylor and her mom are living proof of their motto, “Dedicate yourself to whatever your dreams are, and they will and can come true.”
