Sophia is one passionate proponent of the cause. “I’ve been a part of JDRF’s Promise to Remember Me Campaign for four years in a row, have attended the JDRF Gala, have held fundraisers, appeared on The Morning Blend, had a two–minute documentary made by Kohl’s Corporation about my life with T1D, and most recently was designated as the JDRF Youth Ambassador for the Southeastern Chapter JDRF Walk,” she says, cataloguing some of her efforts. Phew! She has also shared her stories with companies including Kohl’s and Walgreens, and is especially proud of speaking in front of 5,000 people at a JDRF Walk event. “Me, Sophia Veit!” she exclaims. “My teacher even came to see that!” Sophia enjoys art and crafts, soccer, basketball, games and being a Girl Scout.
