Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

Rush is attending JDRF Children’s Congress because he has high hopes for a cure. “This is a nation that makes great things happen. Finding a cure for T1D would be a big accomplishment for our nation,” he says. “It would be a gift to the world. A gift that I look forward to receiving one day soon.” Active in his JDRF Chapter as a Youth Ambassador, Rush speaks to different groups about life with T1D, walks with his Rush’s Rangers JDRF Walk team, attends different community events that promote JDRF, and has spoken to his Congressman about T1D. His other passions include soccer, football, boating and riding jet skis. Rush is also a member of the River City Dirt Riders Club, a motorcycle club that rides trails through the woods.
