Owen enjoys volunteering for JDRF, from serving as a Youth Ambassador, community events like One Walk, and delivering Bags of Hope to newly diagnosed kids. He’s proud that, through sharing his T1D story, he is able to help others. “Two families took their kids to the ER because they were experiencing some of the same signs that I did during diagnosis. My hope is that no one has to go through this in the future.”

Owen likes playing sports and is on the JV football team at his high school. His other hobbies include listening to music, riding his bike, studying movies and filmmaking, and traveling with his family. He’s also currently learning about cybersecurity and coding with the hopes of a career in the computer science field.
