Age: 7
Age at T1D diagnosis: 4

Olivia has Olympic–sized dreams: A talented ice skater, she won two first–place medals in her first competition. “My mom said she was extra proud of me, because not only did I go out and do my programs the best I could, I also did it while dealing with a high blood sugar,” she recalls. Olivia hopes to compete in the 2026 Olympics. In the meantime, she keeps active supporting JDRF. She and her family raised $25,000 for the JDRF Walk last year, and now they’re organizing a support group in the Coachella Valley to help other families. “We don’t want other families to feel as alone as my family did when I was diagnosed. It helps when you know other kids who have to do all the same things you have to do.”
