Age: 11
Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Nolan loves giving back: he works on service projects with his family and his church, helps package meals to send to the hungry, and has even designed a children’s library for a homeless shelter. Nolan is also an active T1D advocate. In fact, he has already met with most of his state’s Congressional Representatives to discuss the disease, and has made TV and radio appearances to talk about T1D. Nolan also enjoys outdoor activities and climbing, and completed his first summit in Colorado last year with his sister, mom and grandpa. Recalls Nolan, “It was hard, hard work, but we did it. I had a few blood sugar issues on the summit, but we got it under control. It was really worth all of the hard work!”
