Nick has been living with diabetes since he was three. So when his older sister, Samantha, was diagnosed years later, Nick was able to give support as someone who had been there and was "doing just fine." Diabetes presents its challenges, but Nick lives an athletic, active life and is a huge supporter of JDRF. He and his family team, "Super Siggias," have participated in Walks since Nick was four, raising over $25,000 for JDRF to date. He hopes that he and his sister can share their family's story and help Congress understand the difficulties of living with type 1. Nick enjoys soccer, lacrosse, and skiing. He and his family love hiking, and they recently hiked 13 miles roundtrip into and out of the Grand Canyon, in one day.
