Amazingly, Liam has raised more than $200,000 for diabetes research. He wants to encourage Congress to give more money to diabetes research, and would like to strengthen anti-discrimination laws. His message to Congress is: "We can't raise enough money to find a cure on our own. We really need your help." Soon after Liam was diagnosed at age three, his family became involved with JDRF. Over the years, Liam has learned how to manage his diabetes well and stay extremely active. He likes to sail, ride his bike, do science experiments, and ski. In fact, he ranked in the top 20 for his age group for Alpine ski racing. Liam wants to design his own website, and hopes to become a doctor one day.
