Age: 17
Age at T1D diagnosis: 12

When he’s not walking or riding for JDRF, Michael likes to play baseball on a travel team. Since his diagnosis in 2012, Michael has dedicated himself to helping JDRF. He explains, “During my hospital stay, a representative from JDRF came to my hospital room and taught me about all the little and big things that JDRF is doing to help people like me across the world. After learning about this great organization, I decided that I should strive to help JDRF and its mission of turning Type One into Type None.” In the future, Michael hopes to attend the University of Virginia and earn a degree in business.
