Maya is a reader, dancer and according to her endocrinologist, a T1D all-star. She’s so on top of her T1D that she received a certificate of diabetes excellence from her endocrinologist. Maya and her mother are both actively involved in JDRF; Maya has spoken at several local Galas and her mother ran a half marathon for JDRF. This aspiring professional dancer is anxious to make a difference on Capitol Hill and spread the word of the importance of T1D funding. She’s hopeful that by the time she’s an adult, she’ll be able to say, “I used to have diabetes!”
