Maguire is a gifted guitarist. He’s been taking lessons since he was nine, and dreams of becoming a musician or composer. “It is my passion. It is who I am and it is what I do.” He’s even used his guitar to spread a message of hope for other kids with T1D. His local newspaper interviewed him about his JDRF Walk team, Maguire’s Mission, and life with T1D. He explains, “I was very surprised to see a big picture of me and my guitar on the cover!” Maguire has also participated in a JDRF Paddle for the Cure event, holds spirit nights at local restaurants to raise funds, and provides JDRF Walk team T–shirts to those who walk with or donate to his team. He enjoys basketball, fishing and spending time at the beach.
