Age: 16
Age at T1D diagnosis: 4

Kasey is always standing up for the rights of others, and plans to pursue a career in human or animal rights someday. Kasey has overcome a lot of challenges, including managing her T1D while living away from her parents at such a young age. She attends a prestigious STEM boarding school where she lives in a dorm with other students, and as a result, learned to care for herself completely independently. Kasey has lived with T1D since she was four years old and is excited to attend Children’s Congress this year and explain, “until the cure is found, Congress can help by supporting laws that are involved with insurance coverage of pre-existing conditions, healthcare funding and T1D in general.”
