At three years old, Joshua got his first insulin pump and became a delegate in the making when he had his first visit with Congressman Richard Neal. Since then, he and his family have visited the congressman every two years to ask for type 1 diabetes support. Diagnosed when he was 20 months old, Joshua has been living with the challenges of type 1 for most of his life. Active advocates for type 1 research funding, he and his family participate every year in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at Six Flags. He has also given interviews about diabetes and even appeared in a newspaper. Joshua likes basketball, baseball, Pokemon, skateboarding, and swimming. He wants to be a professional video game tester one day. As a delegate, Joshua wants to educate others about the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes.
