Jonathan understands how closely funding research and finding a cure are intertwined. “We need to find a way to prevent type 1 diabetes so that my kids don’t have to get it. We cannot prevent type 1 diabetes until we know what causes it.” As a JDRF ambassador, Jonathan has helped educate countless people about life with T1D, from Members of Congress at a Promise to Remember Me meeting, to the community members he reaches through JDRF events like the Hope Gala and an annual powerboat ride fundraising event.

In addition to his advocacy work, Jonathan is also involved with his church youth group and choir and loves skateboarding and playing video games. He hopes to become an endocrinologist someday so that he can help others with T1D.
