Age at T1D diagnosis: 2

Jackson is an eighth grader who loves hockey and baseball. He has a lot to be proud of this year: he is a straight-A student and captain of his hockey team. But Jackson is most proud that his family team, Jack’s Pack, has raised $100,000 walking for JDRF since his diagnosis in 2005. He also works hard to raise awareness about T1D by sharing his story at Walk sponsorship meetings, support groups and corporate kick-off rallies. He says, “It isn’t always easy, but I am always honored to speak to anyone who wants to learn more about JDRF and T1D.” Jackson looks forward to the day when diabetes doesn’t get in his way. “If talking about diabetes whenever I can will help get me to a cure faster, then I am all for it!”
