Ian has declared war on his T1D. “I think the biggest accomplishment I have is that I fight and beat diabetes every day,” he says. “Diabetes took my dream [of being a soldier] from me, but with research and funding it won’t take my life from me.” A member of the Junior National Honor Society, Ian also plays basketball and lacrosse. He has served as a JDRF Junior Youth Ambassador, participates in JDRF One Walks and Galas for JDRF’s New Jersey Metro & Rockland County Chapter, has met with his Congressman, and speaks about life with T1D at local events.
