Age: 15
Age at T1D diagnosis: 12

Henry knows the timeline of his T1D by heart. Two months before his 13th birthday, he received his diagnosis. Within three months, he was participating in clinical trials. Today, Henry is an advocate for T1D research. “I hate that more and more people have to endure the same hardships my family and I have faced. That is why a cure is so important. That is why JDRF and the Special Diabetes Program need funding for research.”

Henry participates in the JDRF Walk, attends the annual Denim & Diamonds Gala, and sells hot dogs and raffle tickets to support JDRF at his local market. He has also been interviewed by the local news to help raise awareness. An avid baseball-card collector, Henry plays on multiple baseball teams and hopes to continue throughout high school and college.
