Eva, like most people living with T1D is grateful for the advancements that have been made with devices like insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors. “As I got older, I got a bit sloppy managing my T1D for a bit. I would forget boluses, change infusion sites later than I should, I basically just ignored it. Thanks to the technology, managing it has become much easier.”

Eva has given a few presentations about T1D, but has historically been hesitant to talk about it. “I thought if I didn’t talk about T1D, I would feel like a normal kid, however, I really want to raise more awareness of T1D because so many people have this disease and I want other young people to know they are not the only ones.” Eva loves playing hockey and tennis, reading, and spending time with her friends. She is confident that a cure for T1D is possible, and she is excited to visit the US and advocate for a world free of T1D!
