Ethan has been supporting JDRF both on the field and from the sidelines. When his dad ran the New York City Marathon on behalf of JDRF in 2013, Ethan trained on his bike alongside him. He’s athletic himself, too: a skillful soccer player, Ethan was recently invited to play on a tournament team. When it comes to educating others, Ethan knows how to spread the word. He and a friend presented a project on diabetes during their school learning fair, and Ethan is always available to speak about T1D. “Many kids and adults are curious about my diabetes. I like to explain it to them and show them how I test my blood sugar,” he says. “I am not shy and I will talk to just about anyone!”
