Ethan’s latest JDRF One Walk was a labor of love. The way he is managing his T1D so inspired a friend of his mother that when the man got married, he asked people to make donations to Ethan’s JDRF One Walk team rather than buying gifts. The fourth-grader is a JDRF Youth Ambassador and a Youth Advocacy Leader. He has met with Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and other local officials to discuss the importance of T1D research and spoken about living with T1D at several corporate events. Last year he was one of the top ten finalists in the Ford Race Car Design Contest, raising almost $4,000 for JDRF. The aspiring racecar driver is a Webelo Scout, member of his neighborhood swim team, and baseball player.
