Ethan loves to be independent. Diagnosed at age two, he was pricking his own fingers and operating his blood sugar meter before age three. He got an insulin pump at age four and now performs his own site changes and dosing.

Ethan loves to be independent. Diagnosed at age two, he was pricking his own fingers and operating his blood sugar meter before age three. He got an insulin pump at age four and now performs his own site changes and dosing. His go-getter spirit has helped him and his Walk team, "Ethan's Foxtrotters," raise over $70,000 in their 10 straight years of participation. In addition, Ethan, his friends, and his brother have raised over $500 for diabetes research at two lemonade stands. He was on a local morning news channel to talk about diabetes and JDRF, and has participated three times in JDRF's Promise to Remember Me Campaign. Ethan's hobbies include soccer, basketball, tennis, photography, and building things. He is interested in engineering and feels inspired to create new inventions. As a delegate, he wants to "help Congress realize that more money is needed for research."
